Offering playgrounds and fitness centers, all members of the family can enjoy getting outside to play, just minutes from home. Fitness gurus can work out in the A/C at one of two Candelas Swim and Fitness Clubs. With a resort style splash pool already built, and second competitive lap pool on the drawing board, Candelas offers all residents memorable water sports enjoyment opportunities. Enjoy gardening? Visit the Candelas community garden, where residents can join together to raise sustainable, seasonal fruits and veggies. And if you’re not into sports and the outdoors, be on the lookout for the proposed town center at Candelas, slated to include shopping, dining, and entertainment.

The two Swim & Fitness Clubs offer sparkling pools, fitness rooms with state-of-the-art exercise equipment as well as poolside barbecue areas and indoor-outdoor gathering spaces for celebrations of every kind. The first Club, now open in the TownView residential village of Candelas, is a LEED-certified, solar- and geothermal-powered facility.
The future on-site public school will offer a quality education for some of the youngest residents of Candelas, and it’s just a walk, bike ride or short car trip away. Jefferson County is planning to build a school, which produces students that continue to outperform the state in all grade levels and content areas on CSAP tests.
The community parks of Candelas are no more than a half-mile away from homes, and offer everything from tot lots and multi-purpose turf fields to playgrounds, climbing boulders and fitness stations. In other words, spontaneous family playtime at Candelas is right outside your front door.
Candelas offers 193 acres of on-site open space, and it’s all surrounded by 11,500+ acres of protected public lands that await your discovery. There’s also a National Wildlife Refuge next door, a protected natural habitat that’s home to deer, elk, owls, white pelicans and more than 300 other species. Just beyond are the many open space lands of the Front Range and the Rockies.
The community garden at Candelas is a place where people can join together to celebrate the land, their lives, and each other. The garden will be committed to producing sustainably raised, seasonal fruits, vegetables—all sorts of great-tasting organic goodness. But lots more is expected to grow too. A total of 13.5 miles of recreational trails meander all throughout Candelas, ideal for taking a walk, jog, bike or horseback ride. Explore within Candelas, or enjoy direct access to open space lands and trails at the gateway of the Rockies. The trails lead to White Ranch Park, and beyond to Rocky Mountain National Park, a wilderness area with at least 60 mountains exceeding 12,000 feet.
The proposed Candelas Town Center will offer a vibrant mix of shopping, dining and entertainment. With comfortable gathering spaces, it just might become Arvada’s newest social epicenter. The Candelas masterplan is also envisioned to include 7.1 million square feet of commercial space, with the potential to create jobs and generate significant sales tax revenue.
