MEET THE NEIGHBORS

With 193 acres of open space at Candelas, and access to the surrounding 11,500+ acres of protected public lands, you’re likely to catch a glimpse or two of wildlife. The vast acreage closest to SkyView is a landscape of rare xeric tallgrass prairie and riparian woodland where curious residents abound. The happy contingent of neighbors includes mule and whitetail deer, elk, foxes, owls, white pelicans and more than 300 other species. It’s easy to become enraptured with raptors, too. Skyward are red-tailed hawks, peregrine falcons and soaring eagles on their way back from Standley Lake.
